Located in the Thornapple River Valley, the Village of Middleville is located about 18 miles southeast of the metropolitan area of greater Grand Rapids.  The Village of Middleville and Thornapple Township are on the cusp of metropolitan area expansion.  The natural environment within the river valley and adjacent ridgelines are splendid, providing the Village with natural charm and small town character.

Community Events and Social Activities are very much part of the community.  Heritage Day in the fall, a village-wide garage sale in the spring, concerts in Stage Coach Park in the summer, Farmers Market every Wednesday and Friday in the spring, summer and fall, as well as parades for Memorial Day, Heritage Day and Christmas are woven into the fabric of village life.  A community garden is in its fourth year of growing and harvesting. Plays, concerts and athletic events sponsored by Thornapple-Kellogg High School bring the whole village together throughout the year.

The people of Middleville are involved in a variety of community service groups and social organizations, such as the Thornapple Trail Associaiton, Friends of the Library, Heritage Association, Lions Club and Rotary Club.
