Public Hearing – Special Land Use

Please be advised the Village of Middleville PLANNING COMMISSION will hold PUBLIC HEARINGS on November 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible to consider SPECIAL LAND USE APPLICATIONS. The properties to be considered for the Special Land Use Applications are located at parcel #08-41-085-013-00 (also known as 402 Thornton Street), parcel #08-41-022-138-00 (also known as 4611 N M-37 HWY) parcel #08-41-022-412-00 (also knowns as 640 Arlington Ct.), parcel #08-41-044-002-00 (also known as 314 Arlington Street) and parcel #08-41-022-135-00 (also known as 4695 N. M-37 HWY).  These hearings will be held in the Council Chambers during the regular Planning Commission meeting, which any interested person can attend at 100 E. Main St. Middleville, MI 49333.

The Special Use Applications to be considered seeks Planning Commission approval for consideration of Recreational Marihuana Retailers at 402 Thornton, 4611 N M-37 HWY, 640 Arlington Ct., 314 Arlington St., and 4695 N. M-37 HWY. A Recreational Marihuana Retail business is permitted in the C-2 Highway Commercial District per Sec. 78-323(15), subject to the standards for special land use in Sec. 78-544 and Sec. 78-566. The Planning Commission will also consider a Medical Marihuana Provisioning Center located at 640 Arlington Ct. A Medical Marihuana Provisioning Center is permitted in the C-2 Highway Commercial District as a special land use per Sec. 78-323(6) and subject to the standards in Sec. 78-544 and 78-566.

 Any interested person may offer comments to the Planning Commission. Any interested person may attend the public hearing to obtain information about the Special Land Use applications or to offer comments to the Planning Commission. A copy of the Special Land Use applications are available for inspection at Village Hall located at 100 E. Main St. Middleville, MI 49333, or via email request to the Village Clerk, at ayalag@villageofmiddleville.org. Persons with special needs who wish to attend should contact the Village Clerk no less than 72 hours prior to the public hearings.  Written comments will be received up to and until the day of the hearing and may be addressed to the Planning Commission at PO Box 69, Middleville, MI 49333 or by email to ayalag@villageofmiddleville.org.
