Local Development Finance Authority
The Village of Middleville’s Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA) has been established in accordance with P.A. 281 of 1986, as amended, State of Michigan. The intent of the enabling legislation is to encourage industrial development in the Village of Middleville, to prevent conditions of unemployment and to promote economic growth.
The development plan outlines public facilities that are needed to support continued economic growth and prosperity in the Village of Middleville. It is recognized that local economic development efforts will not only benefit Village residents, but also the region as a whole. It is for this reason, that tax increment financing is utilized to help finance planned improvements. Using this method, the financial burden for making public improvements (primarily infrastructure) is shared with larger taxing jurisdictions under a partnership agreement.
For questions about the LDFA, please contact Craig Stolsonburg, Village Manager, at (269) 795-3385 or by email at stolsonburgc@villageofmiddleville.org
