Village Council – Public Hearing – Kellogg Crossing Final Planned Unit Development (PUD)
The Village of Middleville Council will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Council Chambers at the Middleville Village Hall at 100 East Main Street.
The purpose of the PUBLIC HEARING is to receive public comment and consider an application for Kellogg Crossing Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) and the adoption of proposed Ordinance No. 2147, an ordinance to rezone the property located at 3770 Bender Road, Middleville, Michigan (parcel #08-41-027-227-00) from R-1, Low Density Single Family Residential District, to the Planed United Development (PUD) District, in connection with the Kellogg Crossing Final PUD.
The Village Council will consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission regarding approval of a Final Planned Unit Development (PUD) located on parcel #08-41-027-227-00 (also known as 3770 Bender Road, Middleville, MI 49333). Pursuant to Division 14 of the Village of Middleville Code of Ordinances, Section 78-477, the applicant is seeking approval of a Final PUD plan on approximately 12.08 acres currently zoned R-1 Low Density Single Family Residential District. The final development plan consists of 25 new single family lots and one outlot containing the existing home, for a total of 26 lots, developed in a single phase with an overall density of 2.22 units per acre. New homes will range between 1,600–2,400 square feet with 3–5 bedrooms, 2–3 bathrooms, and attached 2-car garages.
Village Council – Public Hearing – Ordinance 2146
The Village of Middleville Council will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 7:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Council Chambers at the Middleville Village Hall at 100 East Main Street.
The purpose of the PUBLIC HEARING is to receive public comment and consider a proposed amendment to Chapter 78 (Zoning Ordinance) of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Middleville
The Village Council will consider Proposed Ordinance No. 2146, an ordinance to amend Sections 78-626 and 78-628 of Chapter 78 of the Code of Ordinances to update the definition of “Obscene sign” and conform related sign regulations to applicable state law.
Paul Henry Trail Closure
Please be advised that a portion of the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail (south of Main Street) will be closed from Friday, October 31, 2025 through Monday, December 1, 2025, reopening on Tuesday, December 2, 2025
The southern portion of the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail that is within the Village limits (the first one-half mile), including the first two bridges and the Mill Pond, will remain open, as well as the northern portion.
NO HUNTING IS ALLOWED IN THESE AREAS
The remaining southern portion of the trail, from the Village limits to Irving Road, crosses private property and is closed to the public during the November hunting season.
Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board Member
The Village of Middleville Is seeking a qualified applicant for DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BOARD MEMBER The members of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) attend monthly meetings, review meeting packets prior to each meeting, consider and act on plans to enhance the downtown district, promote economic growth, and foster new opportunities for development. The DDA Board operates under the Michigan Recodified Tax Increment Financing Act 57 of 2018. A member of the DDA Board must become familiar with these laws. Training opportunities will be made available and paid for by the DDA.
A DDA Board Member must have an interest in property in the Downtown Development District (resident or business owner/manager/employee of a business in the District). DDA Heritage Day Planning Committee Meeting
The Village of Middleville Downtown Development Authority will hold a Heritage Day Planning Committee Meeting on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Conference Room at the Middleville Village Hall at 100 East Main Street. The public is invited to attend this open meeting.
2025 Yard Waste and Brush Collection
Starting in April, yard waste collection will begin on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.
The Department of Public Works (DPW) plans to collect yard waste from April 14, 2025, through October 13, 2025, weather permitting. Grass, leaves, and other yard waste must be in biodegradable paper yard waste bags. Yard waste put out for collection must be free of trash, household wastes, tree root balls, and stones. Each bag should contain no more than 50 pounds.
